That would be a great combo for my 47 flathead SIX.. I would love to have a T-5 with parallel leaf springs in the rear!

Funny you should mention that Sid! I did notice that the belt had indeed loosened up past spec, so I tightened it up to have the 1/2" of deflection it should. It didn't seem to make too much of a difference though. I pulled a couple of plugs and they did look like it may be lean. I ran it back down to Freeman's and we put in .043 jets, then drove it back. It did get up to 205-206 on the way down, on the way back it notched 202-203, so it didn't make a huge difference yet. Temp today is about 85, so a little cooler than it has been. As soon as I slow down to 65, the temp drops below 200. I also need to check the timing to see where that's at, as I haven't done that yet. I'm going to make a 140 mi. round trip to a show in Sturbridge, MA tomorrow, so we'll see how she does. |
