Re: Paxton and McCullough Superchargers
Blower, supercharger, two different things. The Pontiac "Banker's Specials" sold by Royal Pontiac in the mid'60's had an airbox so the carburetor did not have to be a pressurized one and used the Paxton as a blower. My Kawasaki Z1R with Rayjay 40 U.S. built turbo and sold at the dealer from Dan Gurney's American TurboPak had a Bendix aircraft carburetor upstream so was a supercharger flowing air and fuel through the turbo. On the other side of the cylinders on the exhaust it had an adjustable waste gate that could be set up to 14.5 psi for Bonneville or such or 8.5 psi at the top of second as I ran it. Not the puny 3psi of Ford's Mustang and Thunderbird or the same boost of unsuccessful Honda twin and Kawasaki.

Re: Paxton and McCullough Superchargers
That V8 that was like an Offenhauser ran some god awful high boost.
Problem was car was undrivable! EDIT Novi engine. I think it all came on in the higher range rpm's and car would just take off! One famous driver drove it a couple laps. After he came into pits he would not get back in the car again! EDIT Fangio.Got story a little wrong. Plus.Sure.Should have grabbed a couple Paxton supercharger's from Long Beach swap meet in the 80's at give away prices. Now? Pay that kind of money for one? Ixnay. Just toil away unsupercharged and be happy about it!
