Question 1928 Canadian Interior Colours

I've been told that Canadian cars had different interior materials then the American one. Does anyone have samples for reference to this?

Also Canadian Colours are suppose to be different then the American cars. I've heard there's a Pelican Grey? Used on Export Cars? or all cars built in Canada.

I do know that some Australian cars had different colors, but I have never heard of Canadian cars having special colors and interiors.

I have been told that color changes occurred only outside of North America. Wayne

Australian cars were painted all different colours than the Canadian or American ones, most of the interiors were leather.

In the early '30s, when car sales were slow (read nearly non existent), Ford Australia, in an effort to create interest made 3 sedans with fabric covered bodies. They were displayed around the country and I guess they eventually sold. I've even heard that one survives.
The depression hit very hard in Australia, so hard that when Ford sent cars in 1930 without them even being ordered, then demanded payment, the local dealers revolted and it looked for a while that Ford would be left with no representation in the country. They got the message and no cars were sent in 1931. It was still possible to buy a new 1930 model A in about 1933 or 4, things were so bad. 1932,3,and 4 cars have always been very thin on the ground regardless of brand but I digress.
It makes sense that Canadian colours and trim were different from what was available in the US - even the Model T was available in about half a dozen colours here as opposed to black only in the US.

Hi John,

The early Canadian Model A's were available in four colours, Pelican Grey, Niagara Blue, Evergreen, and Arabian Sand.

I will post some interior photos of an original Canadian '28 Sport coupe tonight when I am at home.

These pictures were taken of a Canadian assembled sport coupe CA 88105.
I should also mention that as well as the 1928 colours listed above, Niagara Blue, Arabian Sand, Dawn Grey, and Gunmetal Blue were also offered later in 1928.
