Default V8-60 water pumps

We have two kinds of water pumps. The front plates look the same but you can see the pumps are different.

Will the Joblot Automotive kit fit both kinds? I know the rotor is broken off the one on the right.

How do they come apart. A couple of them have little wire loops sticking out of the pulley. Thanks.

There are two design water pumps for v8 60. The upper pump appears to be a taper seat pump the lower a straight seat pump. You must match the pumps to the timing cover design they will not interchange. The spring holds tension on the impeller it clips in the back of the impeller and then is retained by a slot clip under the rubber end cap. The repair kits fit either pump.

Dick, Thanks a lot. That should get me through this. The tapered pump is original but the motor mounts are broken so I got the other front plate from e-bay.

I have what i was told was a 38 60, non tin side. Which one of the above pumps fits it? Will the two front mounts interchange on any of the years?

Yes, the front cover/engine mounts are interchangeable with the difference being what type of water pump it takes. You must use the tapered pumps on the mount with the tapered cavity and the straight body pumps on the mount with the straight cavity.

Just wondering if one WP design is better than the other?
