Default Rear shackel/shock link ball to backing plate clearance

I am curious as to the clearance of the rear shackle/shock link ball assembly on the right and left axle halves, to the attached rear backing plate.

On the Left side I have 0.165 clearance...On the Right side I have 0.035 clearance.

If any of you have a chassis with a rear end attached and no body on the frame, could you please check to see what your distance is in that area?

At this time, I have no idea as to why the difference. Backing plates are stright, no bends in the shackle/shock link ball attachment.

Hmmmmm.

Thanks,

Pluck

pluck a lot of times, a chassis without a body on it they are touching. same with the front if there is no engine in the chassis. when you put a lot on it and the shackles swing into place. it should be alright.
