Radiator comb
Anyone have an opinion/recommendation for a radiator comb?
How many fins per inch on a original '31 radiator? The plastic ones look kind of cheap, would a metal comb be better? Just want to clean up my radiator and make it more presentable.

Re: Radiator comb
The plastic comb would do less damage to the copper cooling fins than would a metal comb. I use the plastic cooling fin comb. I haven't tried a metal one.

Re: Radiator comb
Use a plastic butter knife or similar item and do one row at a time. Won't take too long.

Re: Radiator comb
Keith those are for A/C condenser fins, I've used many times, a pocket knife and patients works as or better than the pictured tools.

Re: Radiator comb
Combs are OK for fins that are not folded too far. They don't work too well on fins that have been pushed over very much plus you tend to run into the tubes which can make the job tedious. I use an assortment of tools to straighten them as best I can and I straighten one fin at a time.
