Wiper vacuum line and windsheild installation
Can anyone tell me the procedure to install the vacuum wiper line from the inside firewall to the windshield wiper motor on a 1931 (B45) coupe. I bought a new vacuum line and it has a short 90 degree on one end and the rest is straight. Also where do the vacuum line clips secure to at the header. Are they installed before the windshield hinge or after? The hinge weather strip before or after the hinge? I'm sure these questions have been asked before but I'm sill puzzled! Thanks to all.

Re: Wiper vacuum line and windsheild installation
On my sedan, I ran the tube up the pass side A pillar with the 90* bend at the top. Just bend the tube to match the contours of the body so you can mate it up with the line port in the firewall. Then I opened the windshield and installed the clips that way. Routed the rubber through the frame and to the motor.

Re: Wiper vacuum line and windsheild installation
I think the routing on a coupe is different than the sedan, but I'm not sure of the order of installation of the windshield hinges. What goes on first to install this? The hinge, the vacuum line clips, or the hinge weather strip? Thanks for your input 1930artdeco.

Re: Wiper vacuum line and windsheild installation
I am thinking a closed car is a closed car for this purpose-I could be wrong though. My windshield was already installed. That being said I would think the vacuum line would be the last part to go in.
