Cool Re: Moving the 30/31 Victoria on Amer. Pickers

Today I saw the repeat of the American Pickers show and the now famous disregarded Vicky....
You know what, they still moved it aside in the repeat version also LOL.

I hope all are well -

Take care -

Show should be classified as a cartoon. Can’t believe people still watch it.

“Show should be classified as a cartoon. Can’t believe people still watch it.”

They do act like the old Beavis and Butthead cartoon. Maybe so, but I consider more palatable a lot of TV broadcasting. I do get sick of oil cans and bicycles!
At least no violence, sex, immoral message, swearing, political message, social stance, Fake news, lesson for the sheeple, pandering.....on on on

I think we’re both right 100%!
TV has become dangerous to society
I used to more or less limit it to news and sports. Now both of those are sickening too!
I once heard that one was old when they like everything better the way it was...
Here I sit proof of such!! Age 73 and that’s the way it is !!

My mother use to say: "There are two things wrong with this world: television and to many people." She was born in 1918 and died in 2002. And I believe she was right......................

The older you get, the more you realize how smart they really were. The old saying goes “ when I was 15 my father knew nothing. Ten years later when I was 25 I was shocked how much he learned and how smart he got in those ten years.

oldbluoval there are a lot more like you than you believe. I'm one of them at 65 years old. I can hardly stomach TV anymore. I quit watching the NFL and the NBA after they politicized it. Good thing is, now that freed up a lot of time to do something worthwhile, rather than stare at overpaid individuals who either throw a ball or catch a ball or put a ball thru a hoop. I hope they all go broke.

The best TV to watch today is ME TV, COZI TV, and H&I they show REAL tv shows that are entertaining ( not x rated and brain dead fluff like today's coke head writers present to us), shows like Gomer Pyle, Green Acres, Andy Griffith, Westerns, etc., you know when television was actually fun to watch. Oh hey on Sundays on H&I they run The Untouchables marathons with Robert Stack, lots of old car scenes check it out

Question Re: Moving the 30/31 Victoria on Amer. Pickers

Checking to see if anyone has current information on the 31 Vicky that was moved to get to a sad old 32 roadster body on the American Pickers program? It has been sometime but I believe some on this site lived in the area where it took place. Just curious to see if it was saved.

Thanks in advance -
SHEC

Angry Re: Moving the 30/31 Victoria on Amer. Pickers

Now that Frank seems to be missing from the American Pickers show, maybe we will find out if the Victoria makes it back on the Ford road......
A guy can dream and I do hope that the shows producers follow up with this sweet Victoria and its long hibernation story.
Mike Wolf - are you reading this? 😎

You’re not going to let this one go, are you.contact the show producers directly. But remember this show is as authentic as WWF wrestling.

I read a blip on another forum regarding a guy that sold a car 'to them for the show'. He said the deal actually started months before they even got there. The production co. arranged with another buyer. Said they were there all day filming for a 15 min segment. It appeared the pickers bought the car in reality it was someone else that paid the money. All for looks. WHAT a reality show that isnt REAL!

Yes, I’ve known 3 folks visited by Pickers. All scripted and orchestrated.
I think the “deals” were for real and consummated. Two said Mike was a really nice guy; Frank….well not so much. Also, the two bickered a lot among themselves.
Third person just complained it took over 12 hours to film the segment!
To me they seem like real life of the animation Bevis and Butthead !

Basically watching TV by definition is a waste of time. Slanted news, over paid athletes, shows with social messages, vulgar themes and language……
I rest my point

I had the opportunity to meet Mike at a small private gathering of vintage Hot Rods and other related material. Mike was very nice and a genuine car guy.
I watch the show just to see other people's junk and realize my stuff is not as out of control as a lot of other people's stuff.

Thanks for the response. I would love to catch up with those folks out in the field some day. I know that it is a television show and all that goes with it. But as you have actually met Mike, then that confirms his knowledge and earnest interests. The show has gone through many changes of late - sadly including Mikes pending divorce and Frank no longer a daily presence.

So I will continue to wonder why the Vicky was overlooked and pushed out of the shed for the remnants of another Ford.....
I guess I’m a true Model A guy -
Be well ✔️🇺🇸
