36 steering box
On my rebuilt steering box the shaft the pitman arm goes on to does not have a hole in it for a cotter pin. Has any one run into this before. I know i can drill a hole into the shaft but is there another way

Re: 36 steering box
Part of 35 production used a hex nut and lock washer. It was changed in 35 to a slotted hex nut and cotter key. Make sure your sector shaft is 36 it should have the cotter pin hole.

Terry
My understanding was that a 35 and a 36 box were different but a wonder if a 35 sector shaft would work in a 36 box and if do does it make any differences

35-36 housing is the same, the part with the sector bushings(35), sector needle bearings (36)--although aftermarket 36 sector kits came with thick bushings many times |

Re: 36 steering box
36 was the only year with needle bearings for the pitman shaft. could also be a NOSR shaft
