Default Wrong fuel pump?

I purchased a new fuel pump for my 32-34 ford truck v8 (like 30 years ago-long project). Now Im looking at a photos of fuel pumps on Bob Drake (looking for fuel pump to carb fuel line) and the pump I got seems to match the one drake sells for late 46 and newer. It looks like the one I have will bolt on ok, can I use it? Travel distance too long/short?

As Flatjack says, it will work just fine - aesthetically, it looks wrong on your car.

Thanks for this information. It looking wrong is a great excuse for not letting anyone who would actually know it's not technically correct from ever looking under the hood!

Actually, the pump you have, although it resembles Drakes pump, will be far superior. By all accounts, Drakes pumps [made in China], do not allow the fuel fittings to seat, resulting in leakage etc.
Don't worry about being put down by the experts; proudly open the hood and display that flathead....at least it isn't a sbc. Who cares if such and such a component isn't what it came with, it's still running the correct style engine. Enjoy

I have a '46 glass bowl pump on my '34. Has a better "filter" than original. Gas tank some how gets "crud" in it so I use an glass bowl pump for the filter. Thing you want to remember is keep gas clean coming into carb and avoid carb problems.

The only problem is a 30 year old pump rubber diaphram will
will be bad or wrong material and need to be replaced. G.M.
