Default Apology to Fordbarn family

I apologize to my Fordbarn family if I offended anyone with my post of getting screwed in this hobby. I can tell you honestly that I have been screwed a few times but it is my own fault. Lessons learned the hard financial way. Sucks big time...

Most lesson are costly, and usually at our expense. I've learned to ask more questions than I should, ask the obvious one's as well, that MOST peoples stuff, cars, parts and women are not necessarily as you see them (living with my dad all these years, his definition of "GOOD", "GOOD ENOUGH" and "DAMN NICE" is not mine!!!!

I don't think an apology is necessary. The point was made you should try to work out the situation with the other person before posting the problem here. Not long ago I had a problem with a part that I purchased from a person her on the barn. The part turned out to be less that satisfactory, so I contacted the seller and he was a real gentleman in taking care of the problem. It all comes down to communication with the other person. It's your approach to the problem and how you talk with the other person in resolving it that will get the situation rectified. You "catch flies with honey, not vinegar".

think it can be the cost of doing business with people in any manner other than face-to-face......you rely on their honesty, descriptions, etc...and sometimes you get burned....and their excuses/reasons...yep, we mailed it....nope, didn't keep the receipt for the postage, etc....yep, that transmission went thru the mail in one box....with gear shift.....then after a few more emails, no more communication....it happens and it can cause anger, etc....i've been there and it will probably happen again....good luck in all your future transactions....Mike

Nice touch on the apology. I read your post on studs and Fenton exhaust manifolds, and did feel you were coming on a bit negative on both. I think we've all been screwed at least a couple time in this hobby, and it does suck,....but...in my case they have been far outweighed by the many postive experiences of all kinds of things, from the many good people who are in this hobby.

It Takes A Big Man To Admit When He’s Made A Mistake………. It Takes An Even Bigger Man To Apologize

Sounds like you're covered on both accounts.

And oldred this is what makes this forum so GREAT!! Many different opinions on any subject. If it makes you feel slightly better what happened to you has happened to me.
I like how people will complain that they had a bad experience (me included) with vendors but also how many write in with the good experiences also.

So you got ticked of and sounded off? So what? I suspect that most of us in this hobby, think everyone is as honest and helpful as we are. Turns out, some are not.
The apology was nice. Now forget it.

I read your post on the 'studs' and in my opinion no apology is necessary.

When the man with the experience meets the man with the money, the man with the experience gets the money, and the man with the money gets the experience!
I have spent enough now to be the man with the experience, I hope!

Once upon a time this commerce took place face-to-face. Now it is done remotely. None of us are able to appraise the other guy over the Web. It has opened up a vast reservoir of stuff that would otherwise not be available. But it has also created problems..
Welcome to the new way.

I sell and buy alot on Ebay and the problems I run into are with buyers, had a couple extremely strange experiences where the only explanation was the FedEx guy must have opened the box and stole half the part, that is without blaming the buyer for being up to no good, especially when the buyer has an excellent long standing reputation.
