Default Few NOS items ?

Picked up a few items from a barn the other day and among the "goodies" was a 15 ft + flex cable with a chrome tee handle about 1 and 1/2" inches long. Would this have maybe been a trunk release for a 49-51 Ford or something else ? Thinking way too long for hood release.

A photo or 2 would help, unless you posted some and they didn't show for me, which happens sometimes (computers and I don't get along)

Could be your photos are too large. Try resizing them.

You are right, it is way to long for a hood release or even a trunk release.
Most likely just an aftermarket bowden cable to be used for whatever needs a long cable.

Could it be for an aftermarket overdrive? like Mitchell or Borg Warner. Maybe the cable was long so it could be trimmed to the appropriate length for the application. Although the T handle sounds a bit small

Is it a locking handle. Can you pull it out and then twist the handle so the cable is locked? If so it could be from an industrial application or maybe a piece of farm equipment?

Non locking handle as it has a square shank at handle end.

I agree, sounds a lot like an overdrive lockout cable. Pictures will tell.
