Default Matching Frame and Engine Value?

I more-or-less got out of Model A's a few years ago, but before I did, I saved aside a frame and motor that are numbers matching. I don't think I'll get around to building them into anything more than perhaps a drivable frame and perhaps mounting a cowl on it.

What I'm wondering is what the value might be for numbers matching frame and engines are. I'd like to sell them as a set, but don't have any value I can go off of. There isn't a title, as I bought it as non-running in 2012. I have too many projects in the garage and around my property and house to deal with and this one likely won't get rolling for years.

If anyone has some guidance, or a ballpark idea if there is value over the normal mismatch frame and engine, I'd appreciate some input. Thanks.

matching hasnt much meaning- frames go for about 200. engines 100-400. depending

as you said, no title so the matching is pretty much meaningless.......

I'm guessing if someone wanted a matching frame and engine it might be good, but that's what I figured. I hate to separate them, so I will wait til someone wants the matching set I guess.

When engines were replaced at shops they sometimes were re-stamped with the # of the junk engine to match the title and frame.

It might be a different story if the frame number wasn't so hidden, out of 4 cars only one of mine matches, probably why they changed the numbering location in 32.

I believe there is a slight extra value to matching numbers if both are useable and have factory stampings. If I were restoring a car and needed either item, I'd pay extra for both. Most people here build "drivers" and don't care.

I'd keep them together as long as possible. Once they're separated, they're forever seperated.

In my former state (Nebraska) you can request a title search through the DMV via the vin--the frame number. You can get a record of the last registration if it exists, after that, there are a couple of options to possibly obtain a title. Every state has different rules, you'd have to check what your state has regarding antique autos. If you had a title then there could be some added value to what you have.

Some States DON'T issue titles to cars over a certain age, CT being one of them.

Interesting, the frame and engine are from a Sport Coupe I believe. I can't remember exactly, but I remember for some reason they are linked to one.

Now ronn, we both know several variables factor into this. Your question is not that simple.

Psrobably worth a couple of bucks to the original restoration folks, and good for them, but not like the 60s-70s muscle car restoration guys.

my point Hitman is- the difference is negligible in the end............

I was the only one to even quote numbers.

The engine you have may not be rebuildable,a good block can be restamped to match frame number,I would say the parts are not worth any more than just any frame and motor,my opinion.
