Divide 34 by 9 and what do you get?

3.78!

That's a reasonable set o gears.

Mart.

9 is the number of teeth on the pinion gear, 34 is the number of teeth on the ring gear. Divide 9 into 34 to get your rear axle ratio: 3.78 nominal (3.777777777 actual)
