Of course, the process did not go without small scratches and tiny dents. But I tried to keep the patina wherever possible. Then the few additional scratches do not bother.

I did not install this stone chip protection because I did not like it. I like the simple bare cooler much better. Stone chip protection is no longer necessary anyway, I think.

As a FYI, I thought that also, until a milk truck pulled out in front of me and threw a piece of gravel at my new Bergs radiator, rock must have hit my radiator at 40-60 mph. Created a heck of a ding. I figure I was lucky since it did not cause a leak.


I agree that the new stone guard looks out of place on my cosmetically much less than perfect Truck. I have been thinking of about either aging the finish, or having it painted or powder coated. Have yet to decide on the finish - color, gloss or satin or flat if painted/powder coated.

What does is antique key on the key ring used for?
What is the contraption on the right edge of your floorboard? Metal arm with an egg shaped end which is notched.

Wade, the old key on the ring that hangs on the original pop off switch, belongs to the tool box on the running board.

The other part is an old heavy adjustable wrench. We in Germany call such a tool "Englaender". The term comes from the fact that this adjustment tool could be used universally for inch sizes.

Werner, Those tools come in metric and imperial versions. Mine have imperial on one side and metric on the other!
