Does anyone know of an original owner of the Models T/A?

Re: Original Owner
I remember the first issue of Hemmings classic car featured a story about a 1929 coupe still owned by the original owner and he was in his 90s then. I believe the issue was from 2004 or 2005.
Even someone who got a Model A for their 16th birthday would be at least 105. Possible, yes. Probable, maybe not. |

Re: Original Owner
I know I look OLD, but I get asked, every so often, if I bought my 1931 new.

Re: Original Owner
I'm 30 years years old, I'm not joking when I tell you I've been asked if I bought mine new. No, they weren't joking either.

Re: Original Owner
One day when I had my A out, someone complimented the car but finished with "but it's all replica, of course". I assured him it wasn't and asked why he thought that. "It couldn't possibly have lasted all that time", he replied. Yes, I've also been asked if I bought it new.

Re: Original Owner
Mike Peters- I cannot remember the man's name either, but I had the good fortune to park next to him after the mandatory tour in Dayton and talked with him about the Roadster. I believe upon his death he left the car to the AACA museum in Hershey.

Re: Original Owner
Thanks Neil. That is a great story.
Now since that Model A had over 400,000 miles on it, I presume the engine had probably been replaced a few times during its life...and the 3 restorations. Which makes me think of thread with Brent's thought that the title goes with the engine. That might mean that the original title with this car would have to be changed with every engine change....? Anyway, great story. Now I wonder out of 4 million+ Model A's how many more stories like this there may have been but we will never hear about. |
