Default Taking Doors Off - HELP

What is the best hinge pin tool?

Mac's tool V46335pull
or
Snyders tool A-46335-T

OR is it easier to take off the door hinge to body screws.

BOTH door hinge pins and body screws are rusty. I am soaking them with Kroil Oil.

Thanks for any advice on getting the doors off.

I would go with the Snyder style tool. I had some very stuck pins and I soaked them for a couple of weeks before trying to remove the pins. It was still a bugger with the heavier duty tool. I actually purchased mine from Berts in Denver and don't remember paying that much for it.

Did you add any heat to them before spraying them? Or did you add heat as you were taking them off with the tool?

My car was already painted and I was only adding mirrors. I didn't want to ruin any of the paint so I did the whole process cold.

I unscrewed all my sedan hinges (partly because the screw heads were ugly-looking from previous owners trying unsuccessfully to remove them). It took a combination of Kroil, an impact wrench with a screwdriver blade, and ithe "blue wrench" (an oxy-sctelyene torch) to get them all out. Taking out the hinge pins was a bit easier when the doors were on the workbench. I used a nicely-made C-clamp style tool that I got at a swap meet.

Also, for the S/W sedan, finding correct replacement screws and washers was not trivial.

Doug, I thought that blue wrench might make things go better. :-) Thanks for the advice.

I've never welded anything with my torch (one of those portable mini-sets from Lowes or HD), but it has been incredibly useful for loosening things and brazing.
