Default '33 Tudor Ownership Anniversity

It was 53 years ago today, New Years Eve, that I purchased my '33 at age 16. Several friends and I removed the engine that night. It was overhauled back on the road by March and driven until 1965 when I started to restore the body which had a lot of rust out around the bottom. I was then drafted and it went into storage until 1970 when I drove it for the last time from Portland to Oakland. It was apart and back together again at least four times in California, Kansas and Houston. Finally last year I got serious and it is now back on the road.

Sometimes it takes a long time but never give up. My love is back on the road and I am enjoying it as I did some 53 years ago.

That is cool, Larry. If my math is correct, that means you bought it in 1960. And the car was 27 years old at that time. If I had bought a 27 year old car when I was 16, it would have to be a 1944. I'm not sure I could have bought a 1944 car.

Unfortunately, none of my first cars were worth keeping...

That is a really good story, thanks. It goes to show some things are worth keeping.

Hi Larry, You beat me my 9 years. That is when I bought my 1934 Ford Phaeton which I still own. This year, I will have owned it for 45 Years.
These old Fords are real Treasures. Congratulations.
