Hi,
I would start with draining the old gas out of the gas tank.
Should be a single drain bolt in bottom of tank.
Take off glass gas bowl. Clean out.Above bowl is a metal screen held in by a
an O ring. Remove and cleanout. Put screen and O ring back in ,place bowl bak into
place. Add fresh gas to tank. Buy and change all spark plugs.
Make sure battery is fully charged. Should be 6 volt battery.
Pour a little gas into carb and start car.
I am sure a lot of the experts will give you a few more suggestions.
Good luck to you and your Dad.

thanks guys. thats exactly what we did last night. took out the gas tank and drained it. The colour was sorta red. it almost looked liked diesel. there was a lot of crud to take out from where it was sitting. so far we've been takin the grit and stuff of the frame. we aligned our doors and our hood. i also ripped the old floor out of the box because way down the road we're gonna put some nice wood and slats in the bottom. i'll try to post some pics later on this week.

Do not use any type of rubber gasket on the glass bowl of the fuel pump. Use proper size cork gasket.I'll send you one if you send me your address. ken ct. you will need FP rebuilt in the future. This corn gas will eat up the diaf and anything else rubber in pump and carb. [email protected]
