Default Peggy Sue Got Married

The movie Peggy Sue Got Married was filmed in Santa Rosa, California in 1986.
Since then a Peggy Sue's car show has been held in memory of that film in Santa Rosa annually and this years show had over 700 cars in attendants.
There were the usual 55, 56, 57 Chevys and a variety of all other makes and models, but nothing stock without being highly modified. There is nothing wrong with that if that's your thing, but for me I was hoping for just one stock 34 through 40's Ford without tons of chrome and motors that belong in a jet plane.
The saving grace was that I saw a few original 53 54 Mercury's in like new condition that were totally unmolisted. Who would have thunk?.....the day was saved! Well maybe there is always next years show!

I guess Its getting that way all over. No more Antique car shows. Even the V-8 Ford National meet they are sneaking in. Soon they will take over as they have done in local shows. I quit local shows because of that. Now they are bringing new cars and trucks to the shows. They have prizes for them also.

The Mercury's had a little more class. Seen a beautiful bittersweet 52 or 53 2 door sedan backing out of a garage in Dewar IA on may way to work awhile back. Sure would have liked to trade days with that guy.

Great to hear there are a few unmolested original Mercs still out there. I recalled the name of the movie but had to refresh my memory of it and the vehicles over at http://www.imcdb.org/movie.php?id=91738
As usual no 52 Mercs in it.
