Default Part needed made of Unobtainum

If your looking for a lens, knob, gasket, or any detail piece made of plastic, rubber, resin that is NOT RE Produced....My friend David can probably help!!!! NOW.....he has to have a master to copy!!!! Let me say that again....He has to have a master to copy from (Even if it is broke)....He has done several door handle gaskets, tail light gaskets and knobs for our German Fords that DO NOT exist. He is doing a horn button for a 46ish' Caddy right now. He did some custom 39 ford shaped blinker lenses for a friends Hot Rod. I will Post pictures if people would like but here is his info. He does this as a side job....He is a pilot and works three weeks (mostly over seas runs) at a clip so be patient with him getting back to you but he is EXTREMLY talented, conscience and EXTREMLY DETAIL oriented.

Nope, no 3D printer....That's why he does need a master to make his mold. As stated before he can use broken pieces and pull a mold from it, then smooth the crack-lines in the cast piece and remold it to pull a clean piece.

David is a professional modeler, and when I say professional he is JUST THAT. He has done some absolutely mind blowing models with such detail you can't imagine. He cast his own pieces, machines his own pieces, does some of his own plating, and has won MANY best paint awards at MANY model shows. He will put 100+ hours into one of his paint jobs which he will take to 12000 grit paper. My friend says his talents are wasted on 1/24th scale. MY other friend says "he can pick fly crap out of pepper" he is SO detail oriented. The car on front of his card is one of his custom models.

Ok....here are a couple of knobs he did for our German 32, these where fresh out of the (clean mold) with the original next to it. He is know working to match the correct shade of brown before he cast the "FINAL" knobs.

I figured he needed an original for laser scanning for 3D printing. So he's doing it old-school. Good for him, it's becoming an other lost art. I took foundry in high school back in the 70s, but they've recently closed the foundry for good.

I worked at Fairbanks Valve Co. in Binghamton NY in the early 70's in the iron machine shop. They had both iron and brass foundries, and I was always fas
cinated with the mold-making process....I would guess David's process may be similar on a much smaller scale. Amazing work looks like to me, with lots of patience. It is good to see "old school" processes still work. Thanks for the info!

Anybody try their website? I get virus warnings from it. I'd sure like to see more examples of their work as I have a project they could do for me.
