Default Can’t get speedometer cable back in housing.

On a recent tour we started hearing a noise and the speedometer started acting up. I decided to take the speedometer cable out and clean and grease it. It was a little difficult to get out but it did come out and I cleaned and greased it. Now I can only get in about 3/4’s of the way in and no more. I’ve tried and tried to get it to go farther but to no avail. Looking under the car it looks like there is a slight kink about the distance where I’m hitting the obstruction. Can the Speedo cable housing be straightened? Is the housing hard to get out? Thanks for any thoughts on this matter.

Easy disconnect battery!! remove four screw from dash panel, tilt forward unscrew outside of cable from speedometer go under vehicle and unscrew cable end by transmission and any other clamps for housing and remove. thread inner cable thru housing and reverse install

The 'kink' in the cable may not be able to be fixed. But, it's worth a try. It may go back in once the cable/housing is removed from the car and tried to be straightened.
