Question Quick jack lift for Model A

Has anyone ever used this type of lift on a 31 Model A.

Are you asking about the type that Harbor Freight sells that is called Quick Lift? If so, that lift won't work on a stock Model-A without major modifications and pieces fabricated. We use something very similar on our race car where it is placed under the tube chassis.

That style worked great on my C1 Corvette. Safe and easy to use and store.
I have not tried one on a Model A.

That and radius rods need observation. Some lifts require vertical additions of one form or another to lift early fords at the frame rail. The axles both move with a bit of an arc motion during a lift so accommodations have to be made if lifting from the frame. Lifting from the axles has it's own set of accommodations.

I have a Quick Jack and used it for my Model A. Yes, I had to move it around to get the proper lifting points, and use the extenders provided....but with careful preparation I was able to do it. I've used it with my F250, Mazda 3, and WWII jeep, but the old 'A' was actually the easiest to set up!

So what did you use for "lifting points"? And, I know that you can buy "truck extenders" from Quick Jack (I think those are the tallest available form QJ), are those the extenders that you used?

They came with the Quick Jack. There are 3 pieces to extend. 2 have the rubber pads (one square, the other round) and a center steel piece to really make it tall! I was able to angle the units to match the width of the frame at front and back, with more of the jack towards the front (most of the weight) of my RPU.I would watch it rise as I pressed the switch, stop before it touched and reset if I needed to. Yes, I was getting up and down constantly checking things out. I was under the frame and avoided the brake rods.

This is what I use, a KwikLift. According to their website, due to the cost of steel, they have temporarily stopped production. If you look on Craigslist, they do pop up from time to time.
You drive up the unit, like a ramp, and then use a hydraulic jack to lift the end up, and then extend the feet. Very stable, have seen a video of a car on one of these, during an earthquake. It was not going anywhere.

There is a cross-piece that you can use, to straddle between the two ramps. With this, you can use a jack stand to support the car, when you remove a tire.
For storage, lay them flat. You can park on or over them.
