Default 4 speed to 3 speed swap in 1948 Ford F-1

Hello all,

I've got the non-synchro four speed in my truck, and this weekend I'll be going to look at a HEAVY DUTY 3 speed for my truck. The gentleman says that the 4 speed and the HD 3 speed share the same drive shaft. Is that true? Are there any other parts I need to gather to make it a bolt-in swap?

Thank you

Same driveshaft. It should be a direct swap. The e brake stuff is on the dash, so no problem there. Speedo cable is the same Go for it.
