yeah, looks too easy to be true! Some where out there is a You Tube of utilising a garbage bin liner over the wheel to facilatate sliding the tire over the rim which works very nicely.

That is how I do it but without the iron, if possible. I have never seen one come off that easily unless it was a fresh tire and recently installed. 21" seem easier than 19"ers.

I think the partially inflated tube (looks like a motorcycle tube) put in the tire before mounting is a different one than the one mounted with the tire but then again you don't expect a full, big-budget Hollyweird production on YouTube...

The tire was on the car for twelve years, hardly driven, less then 800 miles. I followed the directions in the brown 1930’s owners manual. It is real close to actual time. The only thing truly cut out from the video is the amount of time it took to pump up the tire. My 15 year old son was the cameraman and he helped me edit it with Microsoft Moviemaker, which is free software that comes with the computer.

Rich, good eyes, the replacement tube is wrong. I bought it from a local tire place and the valve stem is too small.

I had used the garbage bag method previously, even making a carpeted platform with hole for the hub, so I could mount tire from the rear of the wheel.

I now mount tires on the axle as per the old manual and this video. Seems to go faster with less effort. Just have to be gentle with the irons.

Nice video!

I just mounted 3 new tires today, I can guarantee that mine didn't mount that easily. How far is from Illinois to Rhode Island, I need some instructions. LOL. Howard

feed back from my observation.
nice floor mat. is that rubber, and how thick ? great timing. but no rim liner, how come ? removed tire appears decent , was there an issue with the tube ?
anyways, fine demonstration.
i've not mounted my tires yet, but i like the fact that it's done with the wheel on the car, clear of the fenders.
thanks for sharing.
it took me way longer to get just one tire of a rim, was like they were all glued on for some 30 years. and the tubes held air. i destroyed them in the process.

Wow seemed to easy to be true. Looks to be a really good method, but I still would take it off the car, for fear of scratching the outside of the rim with the tire irons.
