Your state has SMV regulations; http://www.moga.mo.gov/mostatutes/st...400000291.HTML

This would likely qualify under that.

I varies from state to state. Her in CT, a farm tractor has the use of the road for the purpose of farming. My brother in Vermont was told by the sheriff that if it had no rear suspension, it was a tractor, and did not need to be registered. He drives his on the back roads.

Doodlebug?

Do you mean a Model A Ford propelled railroad vehicle?

That's enough to make me want to move to Vt! Do they still have more miles of dirt roads than paved? How about more cows than people?

Last year when I visited my brother in VT I stopped at the visitors center on I91 and there was a poster made by a school girl that said "I like vermont because the trees are close together and the people are far apart".
My brother only has 20 acres, but it is a big back yard.

Vermont does sound interesting, and I'd like to visit there sometime soon.

My friend here in Ma. had a nice doodlebug and registered it for road use, no problem, he finally sold it because it was too breezy for his wife and it rode hard because of lack of rear suspension, it was a converted fire truck. He kept the speed below 40 because it got too squirrely on the highway.

My wife and I regularly pass this on our daily walks. If I had a place to put it, I'd look into getting it.

Someone put the oil pan on the wrong side of the engine.

I'm afraid that engine and gas tank with no cap are toast.

I have a 1931 Doodlebug. It is registered , titled & insured. Never plan to run it on the road though. It has "streetsweeper" rear tires. My son learned to drive with it at the age of 12! It has a lot of history with our club as members have bought & sold it numerous times but with a stipulation that it MUST carry a cost addition of a minimum of $1 each time it changes hands.

I wonder if that rear end could be used to help the guy working on the old fire truck?
