Rear brake cable saddle clamps
Hi , I don’t know the correct word for these . But essentially the little saddle clamps with two bolt holes that locate/ retain the rear brake cable outer to the backing plate in an hydraulic brake system .
Who could be a vendor for these? |

Re: Rear brake cable saddle clamps
Is this what you are in need of?
https://www.acdclub.org/forum/cord-8...g-plate-clamps For $230, I bet you could make your own out of angle iron, flat stock or "U" channel. |

Re: Rear brake cable saddle clamps
Yikes, I am not familiar with that bracket. Maybe all these years I have had the park brake mounting wrong . If memory serves me correct back in the early 80s we pillaged the brakes off a 42 sedan . I don’t remember it having the guide tube coming forward from The backing plate . But had these cast U shaped saddles with a large hole to fit over cable outer and small hole with shoulder facing the shoes to retain cable.
Maybe I need re education as to the correct location method for the e brake Securing . This is for pre 39 V8s that have been converted to hydraulic. |

my4dv8: Any chance of posting a photo of what you are dealing with?
Are the tubes sold by DRAKE adaptable to your set up? If so, you could make your own our of 1/4 brake line. https://www.bobdrake.com/39e-brakes |

Re: Rear brake cable saddle clamps
Sounds like you are referring to 78-2102 clamps. These were used to attach the parking brake cable conduit to the rear backing plates on 42-47 pickups. The were also used on the 37-38 cars to attach the cable brake conduits to all four of the backing plates.

Re: Rear brake cable saddle clamps
On 40 brakes that little thin split clip thing works . I even made one out of steel banding used for crating and shipping. The last photo shows the Lincoln tubes sold by MT Products that I cut down for use on the 40 Ford. However, I am not sure I am referring correctly to what you actually desire for your set up. Hope it all works out for you.

I doubt they are repoped. A couple of years ago, I got a pair NOS from Fred Wilner at Southside Obsolete 507‑332‑6789. Good luck.
