Re: what goes here?
I don't think that is an original part. I have never heard of a Model A coming from the factory with a door jamb light switch.

Re: what goes here?
I read a post a while back where one of these switches was used to set off a buzzer in case you left your lights on and then opened the door.

Re: what goes here?
Why order 2, when you don't even know what it's for????

Re: what goes here?
Can you see if there are any wires attached to the back of it?

Re: what goes here?
If there are no wires attached, it may just be a door popper, meant to help open the door, or stop rattles from worn hinge pins. Our roadster pickup has similar buttons, and I think they were installed to stop rattles.

Re: what goes here?
Yep, that would be my guess as to what it is. Lots of after market gizmos from way back when to help separate the working man from is money. Of course none of that goes on these days.

Re: what goes here?
well i looked behind it as best i can and no wires or anything that makes it look like some sort of switch. the very center of this is threaded like a stop or bumper screwed into it. there are no screws holding it on as you can see.
i figured it was something to help keep the doors from rattling also. not sure what "poppers" are or how they are mounted. Maybe someone could post a pic. Thanks |
