Default 1940 Pickup Column Cross Reference

I'm looking for a 1940 pickup steering column, and I wonder what other years used the same part?

I think all the cars used a column shift, whereas the truck is a floor shift.

Anyone know what years / models used the same fluted end column?

Thanx,

Kirk

1942/47 are longer. Got a saw?

Get a 1 1/2" tail pipe and have the end flared.

I've got a 37 column and what's probably a mid to late 40s column from a car.
They are different lengths. And of course, the column from the car has the provision for a column shift.
I don't know what the exact length of a 40 pickup steering shaft is supposed to be.

See picture below. (note the very large flare used on the 40 and up steering wheels)
