People theses days...it takes the fun out of selling anything. Last month i wanted to go to the chickasha swap meet in Oklahoma, so I decided to pre sell a couple things on the model T site to help the cost of the trip. "delivered to chickasha " the ad starts out. The first call goes like this- Well, can you work with me a bit, how much to ship as I'm not going to the swap meet. No I said, no shipping, the whole point is you hand me some cash, and I hand you the part, very easy. Dont you know any one going to the meet? no. Where do you live? Washington state. Do you live near the XXX brothers, they go every year? Yes, I know them, one is rebuilding a motor for me now. So, give them the money, and they can pick up the part ! Good idea he say's, then "now I have to figure out how to come up with the money" !!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I have been lucky. So far almost everyone on here has sent me money for the parts and let me know when the money was put in the mail. In all the time I've been on here I only had one person fail to send the money after I boxed it up, gave a shipping cost, and it was a person who was an infrequent poster on here. No different than the person at the swap meet who looks at your part and tells you they like it and will be back later to get it. They never show. I never hold parts for the "BE Back Crowd". '.

I went to my niece's graduation in Fort Worth. I forgot to bring the card to the party so just gave it to the hotel clerk to mail. It took 3 weeks for her to receive the card. Years ago I had a few other similar experiences with someone accusing me of no mailing a check.

Just use Pay Pal. It's safer and faster.

I'll send cash for low-priced items (less than $5). I bought some 1/4" thick leather (very hard to find) to make friction pads for early Ford and some Mallory distributors. I sold them for $1 plus postage and requested cash to eliminate the hassle. (No one is going to risk trying to cheat on a $2 purchase; plus anyone who knows what they are and needs one HAS to be honest).

I have had people asking me, " how much is shipping to xxxxxx ? My ads state FREE shipping in the USA. Don't they read the ads ? Then they don't follow through with the purchase.

I had it coming Joe. Newc sent me some parts and I needed a few more. I just got busy and dropped the ball. I will say he doesn't have that package any more. It showed up at my house today. And I will say the parts that Newc sent your just what I needed. End of story. Thanks
