Default Grinding horn

I just picked up a Tudor, and one of the first things I want to fix is the horn. It sounds like a bunch of screws grinding in a coffee can. Where do I start? Just open it up and see what appears to be broken/worn? I see you can buy everything in the horn new, I'm just not sure what to start with.

As a related question, Some wiring is missing to lights, etc., where can one purchase the correct original wiring? I assume it was cloth insulated? Can anyone possibly point me to pictures of a restoration with routing of original wiring to lights, etc?
