I would guess the cross member in your Cyclone is similar, unless
you changed it when putting in the trans you are running.

You can see the bracket, for the flat bar to slide into, on my cross member.
Yes, it has been modified in that area, but the photo help a lot as to where it should locate!

It looks like there is plenty of beef there. I'm sure it needed all it could get.

There is a whole sub-frame all the way back.

Well, figured out the brake issue! All new brake parts a few years ago, but it had been setting. The wheel cylinders leaked brake fluid all over the inside of the brakes. What a mess, everything is corroded beyond belief. All new parts will fix the problem, but what a mess to clean up.

Sounds like stuff that sets too long in south Texas. I feel your pain there.

Not a 1965 Mercury Comet, but a similar 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Hardtop in Australia.

Was wondering is anyone knows what the differences would be? I assume it would be the length of the bar and maybe the curvature? Also can't find a photo of the original installation, which may or may not be helpful in my case, LOL.

Attached photo is off the internet, just an example of the components I am referring to.
If you still need it, attached is a partial ILL from the MERC MPC -

Thanks, I'm modifying 66 mustang parts, think it's going to work out good. Currently waiting on one part. Interesting that the 65 Comet was unique in this area, no apparent reason for it.
