Default 1928 Briggs Leather Rear Door Hinges

It is beginning to look like I need to add a shim to a rear door hinge on my '28 Leather Back Sedan. The rear door hinge on the body is attached with three 'screws', one being a wood screw.

Are the remaining two screws attached thru the hood framing with flat washers, locks & nuts ?

The car has it's original upholstery which I wish to disturb it as little as possible.

Has someone been there ???

This is a 28 Briggs basket case. The first photo shows what I think is the lower mounting bracket for the rear door. Shows two bolt holes for the lower rear hinge. Just what you said. So to access these bolts you would need to remove an interior panel. The last photo shows the rear door hinge mounted on the door with 3 wood screws. Why can't you just shim behind those, rather than digging into the body side of the hinge?

If the door is sagging due to wood problems then there may be more to find if you look at that C pillar. If it is sagging from hinge wear then the hinge should be repaired. The old wood structure cars from Murray & Briggs can get dry rot or who knows what after 90+ years. Shimming it may just be a short term fix.
