1939 steering shaft lock collar

Anyone know where to acquire the screws that go into this piece?

Van Pelt lists it as part 3588 going into part 3532.

Google search is not resulting in any hits. I purchased a couple dog point set screws with the right threads, but the dog point is smaller than the original. Not sure if this affects anything. If figure the shaft lock needs to held in place tight and not wiggle.

Both of mine are rounded off and I had to drill one out.

This doesn't asnwer your question directly. Sometimes I wonder if it's better to eliminate the shaft lock? If you lost your keys for example, it could be a major pain to move the car and remedy. I know it serves as a theft deterrent. How many folks these days would know how to hotwire a V8 and drive away?

Anyway, would a set screw with a point not work to get the job done?

That’s kind of what I bought. I’m concerned that if it goes in too far it might interfere with the light switch tube. If I don’t thread it all the way in, will it interfere in the steering tube?

Consider having the one end of a set screw machined down to fit the hole in the inner steering column. The set screws are peened in place after inserting making them very hard to come out.

I done my there is a spring and ball that in the hole kit you can buy from 3 gen
If you lose the key on new car the column is lock to!

The spring and ball are in the steering drop, not to hold the locking collar in place
