What do you need an URL for?

Early on, when I viewed the File Not Chosen page, and clicked on one and tried to enter a pic from My Pictures, and clicked on Upload, I thought the fill-in URL below that was more info to submit with clicking on that Upload.

You expressed that well Pat. I understand better. I think you confused the upload area by doing two things at once. Selecting a .jpg AND putting something into the URL area. That would have pissed off the forum software.

I'm pretty sure URL is not as common a term among this group so let me have a go at some edumacation.

URL is an acronym for Uniform Resource Locator. Uniform=it's a standard way to do things on the internet. Resource=is a picture, webpage, or file you want. Locator=is where on the internet it actually exists. https://www.computerhope.com/jargon/u/url.htm

So a URL is something you can link to or put into the address area of a web browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Safari, etc.) to go to a resource.

So, was the video I made any help? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdP9Bvbojoo

The video gives a good description of how to post photos.

It's a very good video. The confusion might be with where the image is hosted or located. Are you on a desktop, laptop, ipad, phone. Is it a hosted image, clouded, or sitting on you desktop.

It gets interesting quickly. Technology is your friend.... sometimes.

It's always easier to help someone when you can sit there and run through their system. I'm certainly not a guru, just enough to get me into trouble.

Yes dear, is a good phrase. It might not fix anything except for your sanity!
