Fan setup for a 59-a in a '40 pickup
I have mounted an electric fan behind my radiator, but I have really close tolerance to my distributor. Radiator and mounts etc. are all stock. What do I look for for an engine mounted fan? I also have a 12 volt alternator mounted to the front of the manifold. Now what? Thanks Jack

you can mount the electric fan in front of radiator which might be the easiest solution. needs top be a pull fan (?).

What's wrong with using the crank mounted 40 fan? ( I see oldschool beat me by seconds)

Re: Fan setup for a 59-a in a '40 pickup
The 39 trucks have the radiator much higher than the 40-41 trucks.
By my memory my dad had a 40 with a 59A and the 6 blade fan set on its lowest setting (generator low and fan low, get fan belts to match) and everything fit. |

38 coupe is correct the 39 is much higher. No clearence problem. I had Walker make a custom radiator , just sent them the spacing and it fit perfectly. They are real good to deal with, highly recomended. Frank pkny
