RECENTLY Unable to Upload Photos

After quite a few years of being able to upload photos here, I recently have ran into a problem, getting the "Error occurred...." message. I CAN upload the same photos to the HAMB and the Early Ford V8 forums. On the 17th at the end of a post I tried to upload a photo from about a year ago just for the heck of it, and it went fine. So I am puzzeled, same computer, same Iphone 11, software version 14.7.1 I will mention that I'm in the Manage Uploads box and am selecting a photo to upload, small ads appear above, and I am signed in. Sure would like to get this fixed. Thank you.

Had the same problem the other day. I was using my iPhone. I think it is the file size. Have no issues like you uploading to the HAMB or other forums using my iPhone. I’m guessing it’s the old software this platform is running on. Almost impossible to read anything on my phone without having to zoom in.

You could be correct, I wish I had a definite time when I ceased being able to upload, I don't believe it was long ago. I thought there was a commonality to the HAMB platform and here, but apparently not. Perhaps a moderator will chime in.

Picture loading issues are almost always picture file size issues. I would be very surprised if an newer iphone camera would take a photos in low enough resolution to post them directly. However, I know little to nothing about iphones! With my android, I have to download my photos to my desktop and resize them.

The HAMB uses totally different software from the Barn. And uploading photos is totally different as well.

I'm pretty sure you are correct. I guess I'll explore a resizing app.

I use PhotoscapeX. Its free and pretty easy.I downloaded it and then the icon is on the desk top. I send pics to my email then drag and drop on my desk top.I then drag and drop the pics on Photoscape Icon where I can resized them and give it a file name then back to desk top. From there I put it in a file folder. Might be an easier way but I'm used to this and works for me.

Many find the limited file size to be a PIA on FB. While I love the sight for interesting conversation & information it truly needs to update its software or whatever is the limiting factor to improve the platform & become at least commensurate with other Forums with regard to picture files!

Hi Everyone. AnthonyG I get what you're saying.

But here's a piece of that puzzle. If every photo that FordBarn had to pay for saving on their servers was upped from 500KB to the 2-4MB file size that our cameras snap, then their storage needs would quadruple or more.

Don't ask me how websites make money, but paying for storage is one of the ways that they spend.
