Default fender welting 1950 f-1

I have removed the fenders (all four) from my 1950 f-1 to make rust repairs. I noticed a recent thread about welting on a 1937 vehicle. I knew a previous owner of my vehicle had used caulk where the welting should have been and I intend to install beaded welting when I reinstall the fenders. I was surprised to see some kind of welting around the headlight buckets. It was deteriorated badly and I really can't tell what it is and have never seen any info on this material or what might be a source for buying it. From what I can tell from the scraps, it appears to have a weave in the fabric. Any info would help, thanks.

Contact Roy Nacewicz. He makes the stuff.

Bernie,
My 2 cents.
Just finished re doing mine. I did not check with Row N. for the thin welting that is used inbetween the front end sheetmetal. I tried using a 3/4 x 1/16" webbing and it was to thick. I used a substitute while I looked around. The rear rubber welting and the special rubber front fender to body rubber sold by Dennis Carpenter and Mid-fifty is great stuff.
Here is a link to a bunch of great guys. F-1 & F-100 Ford Truck Enthusiast website.

The stuff between the headlamp buckets and the grille were sort of a webbing material with ?? something in it to repel water. All the repro guys like Dennis Carpenter, Mac's, LMC truck, John's F-100's , etc... sell the pre cut pieces. They have the fender welting and the rubber pieces for the front fender to cowl also. Look at their on line catalogs and it shows it all.

The headlight buckets should have a gasket which is available from the Ford suppliers. There also is a rubber seal available for the lower front fenders.
