Default Need Help Identifying V8 Stamped C 254 11 on Bellhousing

I have a 24 stud flathead V8 that has C 254 11 in raised numbers on the bellhousing and also K stamped just to the right side of those numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any 24 stud block that isn't a 59A has to be scrutinized for details of water passages, pan rails, etc. to come up with a date. The casting marks you describe are not understood yet, and almost certainly would not ID the engine anyway...probably something like shift and mold information.

Knowing if it is a 3 1/16 or 3 3/16 bore will also help pin down a given production period. Two or three bolt dist is another item.

Here's more flathead block info than you can devour before lights out:

Thanks for the info. Guess I will just pull a head. This has the fan on the crank and has truck heads so thought it might be a 3 3/16ths motor.
