Default Moon Over The Merc

I needed to get a photo or two of the "super moon" Monday night so naturally I also needed to work the Mercury into the photo to give it some sort of size reference. Nothing too spectacular from my old outdated Canon camera but I liked the result. The Merc needed a little exercise and the warmth from the flathead and Mercomatic felt good on that cool evening.

Cool photo of your cars end and the moon Ralph. That's worth framing.

Thanks Graeme. I don't think the next super moon shows up til 2034. Figured I better take the shot of this one as the Merc and I might not be around for the next one.

Why? If for no other reason than to show the snow on the ground reinforcing the strength of the vapor cloud of the car's exhaust. 'Cool' in Saskatchewan is 'cold' in many other places south of there.

No snow in my photos yet. What we got in October melted and we have been enjoying well above normal temps. Even broke a few record highs the past week. Yet it does cool down into the 30s at night.

Considering what this old Canon has been through bouncing around in my pocket every day for years, it does pretty well. The zoom feature has quit working though. And its a little short on megapixels by today's standards. I cropped this one down a little.

Ralph the original shows the moon and the way it lights the vastness of your prairie country, something we don't see down her in NZ.....just a bit of my useless "artistic licence"

The one with the moon coming through the windshield - looks like the cops pulled you over and you're about to go to jail! LOL!

"Kind of Diggin" that lit up dash, reminds me of my 56 Crown Vicky I had as a kid driving at night. Oh well.

Of course I may be somewhat biased but I've always said the 52-53 Merc has the best looking dash/instrument panel of any car ever.

RalphG, Geez I always said that about my 56 Crown Vicky dash, 56 Thunderbird had engine turning better yet. Not to be left out a 1962 Chrsysler Newport or 300 dashboard

And you now what happens when it lands . . . your car won't start, your wife will twist her ankle in her high heals (won't be able to run). You'll try to save her and the martians will get you both! It always happens that way . . .

Now that is a flashback. The Invaders was my favourite science fiction tv as a kid. Must have seen every episode. Funny how I've come full circle now. Watching The Invaders on Youtube and driving the Merc.
