Default new engine, problems?

hello all, i`m currently in the sixth or seventh year of a six month plan to refurbish my `37 ford half ton. so far i have completed the following; hydraulic brakes w/ dual resevoir master cylinder, wiring harness, glass, interior, radiator, engine, transmission and rear axle with columbia. i replaced the original V-8 60 with a `39-`41 221 C.I. tin can motor [bored to 239 C.I.] with a Max-1 cam and a single 94 carb. when i started the engine for the first time, the motor started right up, good oil pressure [idle-20 P.S.I. hot, 50 P.S.I. at fast idle hot] and no unusual noises. i ran the motor at fast idle for fifteen minutes to lube cam. re-torqued the heads. the following day i drove the truck around in the neighborhood to put a load on the motor and again i re-torqued the heads. i have about eight miles on this engine plus forty five mintutes run time. i noticed the engine oil on the dip stick was BLACK, so i took an oil sample and had it analyzed at Blackstone labs. the results; copper -actual 28 PPM, norm-19PPM, lead -actual32, norm 125PPM, tin -actual 29 PPM, norm 2PPM. my question is, do i have a problem? or is this normal "wearing in".
sorry about the long winded post, i wanted to give you guys info up front.

i just re-read this post and i forgot to mention the molybdenum -actual 268PPM, norm 33PPM. i think this is what was turning the oil black [cam lube]. interested in your comments.

I can't talk about the oil analysis. Maybe for new bearings seating in, those readings may be normal. Until the rings are "seated" in you may be are getting some "blowby" which will blacken oil quickly. Run it hard for another 50 miles and change the oil. Should be cleaner, I think?

As John stated, run it ! Keep an eye on the oil pressure and a ear for bad sounds. I think that oil analasis during break in would not tell you much.I agree the cam lube would be the reason for the black color and the moly in the oil.

Hot coupe, I have no experience analyzing oil samlpes, but I think your onto it with your second post. (the moly) Hopefully you haven't idled it too long, and that you've put her under a bit of load. Once you have changed the oil (do it straight away after she's been running, while all the particles are still in suspension) I think a further analysis will be back to normal (or very close)
If she is sounding o.k. and performing o.k. just keep her going, change the oil as per run in recommendations, and don't leave her sitting too long between drives.
Do all your final fine tuning timing, head torque etc. asap, and then enjoy!

I think having the oil analyzed was the biggest problem. Go check every car you and your friends have, ALL the oil is black.
