Re: What age group???
I turned 65 this past november. I got my first model A in the spring of 1960 at the age of 13. I was exposed and contracted the incurable model A disease at the age of nine, our 14 year old neighbor, at the time had a red stripped down model A. I have owned and and done all the work on several model A's for over fifty years.

Re: What age group???
I'm 77 3/4 and probably the oldest to reply so far, but thankfully my health is still good. The first vehicle I drove was my father's 1930 International one ton truck, in around 1950. I have liked older vehicles ever since. I had a 1947 Plymouth in 1955, in my last year of college. I had a 1948 Plymouth between 1962 and 1966. After I retired as an Aerospace Engineer in 2002, in 2004 I got a 1930 Model A coupe from a friend in New Hampshire who restores them. This was followed by a 1930 Town Sedan in 2005. I replaced the first coupe with another 1930 coupe with a much better body in 2006. Both of my present cars are good drivers, and I drive them as much as I can. My 50 year old son also enjoys driving them, and we will often have both cars in parades. I am fortunate to live about 15 minutes from Berts in Denver, and Steve and Phil have been a big help to me. Fordbarn and Ahooga have also been a big help in learning about Model As.

Re: What age group???
The first vehicle I ever drove was a 29 RP on my Grandfather's farm at age 10. The same pickup was my first car at age 16. I am now 67 and have a 29 CCP + 63 and 99 Corvettes and a 69 Sprint Car. Lots of retirement projects!

Re: What age group???
My First Model A I owned was in the summer of 1947 and drove it 35 miles a day to work I currently have a 1930 Tudor a great driver, and a 1930 Roadster that is also a driver just over 50,000 mikes since restoration. Cars are the same age as I am Born in 1930

I am building a Model A powered speedster now with an original Riley 2 port on it. I grew up with Model T's my father had several of them. He is still going strong at 94 but I put a starter on his 1912 touring car recently so he wouldn't have to crank it any more. He just said recently that he USED to think 94 was old................. I think this hobby helps keep you young. Dodge |

Re: What age group???
I am 33, first car was a 49 Dodge. Last 4 or 5 years I have really gotten into A's and have gone on tours with some old timers. It's fun.

Re: What age group???
I am 47, starting looking at my grandfathers A parked on the edge of their yard when I was very small (helped my uncle move it inside about 30 years ago). Just got my A in Aug of last year.

Re: What age group???
75 years and counting! Bought my first A, a 68B in 1952, my second in 1959 which I still drive. Came home from the hospital in 1936 in my Dad's 40B pictured in the avatar. Gar Williams

Re: What age group???
Bought my first and only Model A, a '30 coupe (in bad shape) at the ripe age of 70. The driveline was already done, so I was lucky. I'm now 73 and I've finished it. I seem to spend a lot of time under, over and inside it, constantly working on something. I look forward every day to getting out in my shop just to work on "Miss Tillie". We're going to get some snow up here so I'm looking forward to getting her out in it.

Re: What age group???
I get to be 53 until April, I've had my '31 C/cab p/u since I was 15.
I just FINALLY got to drive it 'legal like' last Sunday night - all in one piece. Got a lot of bugs to work out, and get it back to the body shop to fix all my 'screw ups' (it's amazing how new paint can turn a guy into a butterfingers) Scott |
