today I drove the coupe to early rodders and on the way home I stopped and bought fuel. when I left the gas station I notice that the fuel gage starting dropping to 0. I have a brass float. when I got home I removed the fire arrester and pulled it back up with a wire and now it seems fine. darn calif. fuel

Re: could it be the gas
There's nothing in gasoline (California's or others) that would sink a brass float unless it had a hole in it. But then it would stay sunk.

Re: could it be the gas
How low was the tank when you fueled up? Its it possible if very low the float got "wedged" at the bottom?

Re: could it be the gas
It was low but I watched it slowly go to "0" after filling it up. I went on a tour today with the model A club and all is fine now. Maybe my car is haunted. LOL
