Radiator Cap
I had to take a large pipe wrench to break loose the radiator cap. My strap wrench just wouldn't get it done.
Now I need a new cap like this one but I cannot find any vendor that supplies it. Can someone point me at a vendor that sells these?

Re: Radiator Cap
John, you know there is an Allen head lock screw on those caps, right? All the Model A vendors carry those caps.

Vendors don't show them in their online catalogs or at least I'm not seeing them.

Re: Radiator Cap
Before you put the new one on lube that red gasket with dielectric grease (o ring lube) so it doesnt stick next time.

Re: Radiator Cap
i think every vendor sells that cap. There was no need to get brutal with your cap. You used a shot gun to kill a mosquito! Wayne

Re: Radiator Cap
Buy a std screw on cap and drill a hole in it, gasket the hole, and install your motometer on the new cap. It will then screw on like the original and every time you check the water it will keep the threads loose. Another reason to use a good gasket or Oring on the motometer is when you get the cap tight, you'll want to rotate the motometer so its straight with the car. I got my quail motometer from Mac's and its very nice quality but I do not like the screw on once, tighten the allen screw, and never again remove. It will only lead to issues when you DO have to take it off someday, like you had to do.
