Default In Honor of my Father Joseph LaPeter aka jazzjr

I felt it fitting to share with everyone something else my father built years ago. She's not all original . He loved model a's and loved all aspects of them. This car has not seen the day of light since 1996. I felt the need to bring it back out after he passed away in January. As I look back on my time with him , nothing can replace the times of restoring model a's together. Pictured are his grand children and my self and his 29 he built in the early 80's.

Hi Mike,

Most fitting.

Nothing like a close knit family photo to remember shared love among family members.

It will also mean a lot to the next generation to admire how their great-grandfather shared his precious time with his family.

May your wonderful tradition continue.

Your father is missed by the members of the Ft Myers Model A Club, He had become a very good friend.
Joe could fix anything, and was always willing to help anybody. went to several Car shows and Swap Meets with him. At every event since people are always saying we sure Miss Joe!
Your father was the kind of person that makes this hobby great, I seen your father drive many miles to help out with A repairs, and Deliver Parts Free to those in Need!

Thank you, Mike, for this post. While this forum may seem to be about the A's, it is really about people and the need to have positive interaction. Your Dad, your family, and your very act of posting such deep feelings is what this forum is about. Our best wishes...

Mike, I'm so happy that you posted and provided a photo of yourself and kids. May I extend my condolences to you, your mother and your family for your loss; it's our loss too.

I met your Dad and Mother a year ago at the 2013 Edison Ford Antique Car show. Joe impressed me with his passion for Model A's and for those that travel the Model A Highway. Your Dad apologized that the truck's color didn't match the standards. But IMO the restoration of the wood is matchless. Early this year he asked if we going to make the show. So, after getting gentley manhandled into a tight parking place in front of Henry Ford's statute, meeting Willobs and the group, I ask for your Dad. Willobs gave me the news. Your Dad will be missed for his warmth, humor, friendliness and generous spirit.

Posted here are some photos. Your Dad and I shared a special moment of hilarity last year. So, I had just met Joe on the lawn; we chatted for a good bit. Then I being an enthusiatic newbie started looking over his truck putting my head in the engine compartment. Your Dad was watching this a few paces away. For some reason I was lost in deep thought as I moved my eye up the firewall, I jumped with start and started laughing as did your Dad. You see, as I brought my eyes up another pair of eyes were looking at me thru the glass of the sediment bowl. Indeed there was a handsome turtle (plastic) inside looking out. We had fun with that one. Wishing you best as you follow in your Dad's footsteps.

Thanks Mike,

I knew you Dad down here in Florida and he helped with my car and we did some other things together. You have my deepest sympathy as he was such a good guy. Wishing you and family the best.

Mike thank you for posting and sharing your comments, a family photo and the photo of one of your dad's projects. What a nice person he was. I saw your dad jus a week or two before he passed and heard the sad news at the Ford show where I was hopping to get together with him again. What a shock.
My sincere condolences to you and your family.
Thank you again for your post.
