Need to purchase an outside rear view mirror for a 29 Tudor
I need to purchase an outside rear view mirror for a 29 Tudor.
Who has a good one? AND which one is the best set-up? I saw one in Bratton's catalog but I don't know if that should be my choice.

You can use which ever works for you. I tried the one that has the set screws for the top hinge and all it did was crack my paint. Not happy about that.

isn't the problem with these mirrors is that not being weighted, they vibrate annoyingly?

The bolt/nut replaces the hinge pin and secures tightly.

Thanks for the reply-- The one that you have sounds like a better deal. Do you remember where you bought it?

It's probably the exact one that all common Model A vendors sell if I had to guess.

If they do, you can remove the mirror from the housing and pour a small amount of lead shot in the the mirror housing and then re-install the mirror glass. This is done on HCCA era cars where vibration is a bigger issue. |

Re: Need to purchase an outside rear view mirror for a 29 Tudor
Just put a new one on our 29 Sport Coupe. Hinge type from Bert’s. Very happy with it.
Does not vibrate when driving. I highly recommend. Enjoy. |

Does that have a bolt and nut attachment?

Re: Need to purchase an outside rear view mirror for a 29 Tudor
Yes, fits tight, you do not have to use the little screws on the inside that one of the posts mentioned effected his paint.
Mounting bolt replaces hinge pin. Put on drivers side top hinge. Good size, very well made, and it looks great. Plus, it works! Enjoy. |
