Default camshaft markings

i just got a used cam for my 8ba engine. it was advertised as a merc. 8cm. the markings are fomoco and c45 on one end and EA: on the other, the colon after EA is a larger indention. is this a merc cam? i thought it should be marked 8cm.

Check the lift, it easy just use a caliper. Zero out the base circle and then the lobe will tell you the lift. .339 is either an EAB or EAC. both are good cams. only the duration wold tell.

If this is a Mercury or Ford cam, pay attention to the fuel pump cam lobe as there may be wear issues.

I'm not sure that's wear, it maybe just manufacturing tolerance. Sounds like a good cam, I'd use it they work very well, and have a nice sound.
