1954 Mercury 4 door sedan
City:
North Augusta
State:
S.C.
Price:
7900.00
I have up for sale a 1954 Mercury Monterey, original paint except for one front fender and inside. A recent rebuilt 292 with 57 T-Bird 312 heads. Rebuilt clutch and pressure plate, new tires and shocks. Gas gage does not work. 67000 miles and i believe them to be correct. I have documentation back to day one. Not a show car but I drive it and get it looks good for a driver. 3 speed. I have a S.C. title in my name. Ask questions, it is being sold "as is".

Re: 1954 Mercury 4 door sedan
Can you describe any rust issues on various parts (sheet metal, chassis). Interior, underneath pictures? Thanks

Re: 1954 Mercury 4 door sedan
The interior is original, a little wear on the drivers door panel, seat cover on drivers side pulled at the seam. the head liner is good, kick panels good, floor mat worn, dash very good. If i were going to keep it I would repair these three items and leave it as is. One fender has been repainted. No rust around the windows and a few bubbles in the quarters. I probably would wet sand as much as possible and buff the car; original means a lot; but that is in the eyes of the beholder. Under the car looks good, the car drives tight; it has a little viberation at times around 30 and it might be a universal joint??? I have a radio for the car but it is the wrong one. Thank you for asking; if I can answer anything else, please ask.

Just replaced the front "U" joint and the vibration is gone. Happy about that.

Just had the gas tank cleaned and sealed, new sending unite, the seats have been recovered and a carpet set installed. Drives good. May consider a flathead Ford as partial trade or tade.
