I know all of these engine swaps are different of course. My engine must sit back a little further than yours. I have a 2" spacer between from the pulley and the crank mounted fan and the fan is 1" from the rad. Rad is approx 20"x 20" and is mounted in front of the air deflector and is 3" from the grill support bracket. No shroud. Just info that may or may not help.

The 2 9" fans on my setup have plastic pins that hold the fans to the radiator, I'v checked them several times to make sure they hold tight. the fans have not backed out from the radiator yet, don't know where you could find them, but you wouldn't have to add flow restricting straps. I'll see if I can post a pic. Al

I would recommend that you scrounge around junk yards, ebay, old car buddies, etc. and try to locate a radiator core support bracket and corresponding air deflector (between the front bumper and core support) from a '49 or '50 6 cylinder car. Due to the length of the 6, Ford had to place the radiator and core support further forward, so it bolted forward of the core support by roughly 4 inches. That would most likely give you the needed room for the mechanical fan to clear the radiator. I went through this scenario a few years ago, only in reverse since I was swapping the 6 cylinder for a V-8. I might still have those parts, but not sure. You can PM me and we can talk.

There is a company called Snow White that makes a shorter water pump that will give you more room between the radiator and water pump. Check their web site to see if their shorter pump will work for you.

Making some progress with the electric fans. Got one mounted. Turns out they are 6 1/2 inches. Will mount the other one tomorrow.
