Pictures from 1965
I goofed and I must apologize, the pictures are from 1956 not 1965.
My sister just sent me these old pics, my older brother and his A coupe, my sister in the other pic.

Your brother was one cool dude. I think the door says"shake rattle and roll".I like how the battery was on the firewall. My Father always did that with every Model A he had. He thought that was a great improvement.Frank

Nice pictures.
I'd guess your sister is a 1958 model. Am I right? |

In 1959, my 1929 cabriolet had that survivor's look when I got it, but was more deteriorated. I added hydraulic brakes and 15" steel wheels, and that is pretty much how it is today, but with better paint and upholstery. |

Re: Pictures from 1965
Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Is that an after market defroster on the windshield?
In 65 I was 15 and not yet into cars. I was into airplanes and flying. Lessons were only $14 an hour in a Piper colt (a two place Tri-pacer that yes, flew like a brick!), or $12 an hour in the Aeronca Champ. I soloed before I was 16 so I learned to fly before I learned to drive! |

Re: Pictures from 1965
I tried to fly when I was sixteen, couldn't get the wheels of the ground. My car didn't have wings and the runway wasn't long enough.

Re: Pictures from 1965
Now that's funny, because 1948 was the date I entered before I saw you had the 1965 date on the picture. I was just judging the picture date by the newer looking Ford.

Re: Pictures from 1965
I learned to fly in a colt at 16 as well. That was 1963 Chino California.

Re: Pictures from 1965
Wow Steve, your Dad had it going on! Pillar spot light, radio antena, cowl lights, head light visors, 16" wheels, auxilary driving lights, left and right mirrors, hood ornament, fender mount turn signals, nice tie and new shoes to boot. Your mom was one lucky lady.
Is that a Canadian bumper bracket? Thanks for sharing. Jeff

Re: Pictures from 1965
Is that a dealer plate?
When I lived in Manitoba (many moons ago) a D plate was a dealer plate, a T plate was a truck plate, an F plate was a farm plate and a PSV plate was a public service vehicle (whatever that is).

Re: Pictures from 1965
On Steve's dad's car; I can't believe I missed the wind wings... I can't make out what the "ball?" is on the visor. Or the triangular shape on the hood? Great picture, as well as a cool car. Jeff

Re: Pictures from 1965
In my opinion the cars that show how they have evolved throughout the past 85-90 years are far more interesting than those which people throw money at trying to create something that changed the moment it left the showroom.
